  We were here last year and heard rumors of the rudeness of the lady at the gate house. Our neighbor waited until a shift change in order to do a reservation change so he did not have to deal with “that gatekeeper“.
  Fast forward to this year. We understood that there are very few sites available and that we weren’t likely to get in. That was fine, however the attitude of the gatekeeper was unacceptable. Every response from her was snappy and judgmental, including a need for her to tell us that if we took our canoe into the water and touched the shoreline we would be kicked out of the park. We weren’t even going to be in the park, but she felt it necessary to assert her authority. The straw that broke the camels back and required this negative review was when she refused to allow us to pull around into the obvious turn around area outside of the gates in order to fix a quick lunch. My husband even went so far as to say, truly only a half hour........ she said we could go up the road and find a place. Nothing about this woman carries the spirit of camping that we find in the vast majority of parks that we enter. We are currently traveling USA and so have lots of perspective, she is the worst.
